About Us

Patrons

Colin Jackson

"This is wicked, this is Welsh and this is wild! I've never had such a good time, a chance to meet old friends make new ones and just chill out. It's nothing like I imagined! When's the next party?"

Colin Jackson has been a patron since 1999 but has only recently been able to attend, as he's so busy running around the world! He hosted our party at L' equipe in London's West End in September 2001 which attracted so much press coverage from TV to Tabloid!

Catherine Zeta Jones

Catherine Zeta Jones was approached to be patron of SWS as we launched SWS NY in 1999. We were delighted when she accepted the role and even more delighted when she agreed to kiss a white handkerchief so that we could incorporate her lips into our logo. Sadly someone has mislaid the handkerchief since - so whoever has her lips - we want them back!

In November 2000 Catherine married Michael Douglas the day before the SWS 1st birthday therefore the following day all her family and friends came to SWS. What a weekend!!!!!!

Siân Phillips

" I would be only to pleased to put my name to such a clever but simple concept that brings us all together. "

Siân Phillips, one of Wales' most talented and glamorous actresses was actually the first person ever to pay her membership! She was approached to become the societyis first patron and accepted immediately.

Bryn Terfel

"It would be an honour, Diolch"

Bryn Terfel was very pleased to accept the role of Patron as he is a great ambassador for Wales. He has been a member since the begining.

He surprised everyone as he popped into the Groucho Club at SWS's 5th birthday to sing the National Anthem as he'd just finished singing at the Royal Opera house and within 10 minutes he was cutting our cake!

Bonnie Tyler

Bonnie Tyler, one of Wales' better known pop stars was approached to be patron the night before the New York SWS 1st birthday party. Not only did she say yes and cut the cake but she also sang half a dozen songs! The New York members where absolutely stunned! They couldn't believe their luck as they all danced to classics including "Holding out for a hero" and "Lost in France".
